i think the record player just died yesterday which is pretty sad considering my mum bought it in '78 so it's been around for a while. it's the same age as ariel pink. at least it lived a full and wonderful life.
i dont know. i was just listening to my how well can you swim 7" and it seemed a little slow so i fiddled with the speed but that didnt seem to make a difference so i just went "oh well" ¯\(º_o)/¯
then as the next song started it got wayyyyy too slow and i was like "it's playing at the totally wrong speed."
then it slowed down until it just totally stopped ¯\(º_o)/¯

i know this is old, but did you check the rubber band?
with my old record player (which was old too) i could pull the wheel that the record spins on off. under all that i could see the motors and stuff, and my ruberband was stretched out which was causing it to play really slow and sound weird, so i went and bought a new one and it works fine now.
