yeah, i'm serious.!, but i never bought it. i got it around 2006 and it was on a cdr and i didn't even know it was released until a year later. i've really, listened to it a lot. it was on soulseek along with love letters from hell and i want to live! which i also listened to a lot. i was really into all that stuff along with ariels stuff and vibe central and super creep and geneva and bubonic and etc...

... a lot of people here had Songs in 2006, listened to Super Creep, Julia Shammas Holter, R. Stevie, Ariel and bought their Human Ear related stuff. Nothing new dude.

I haven't heard the leak, and so I don't know the quality of the recordings. I hope that it isn't the unmastered stuff going around, and if it is then it's a little unfair to be writing off an album. Personally I think it's great, and has some killer tracks. There were a couple of other tracks that I thought were standout and should have made the cut, "I don't eat human beings" being one of them for sure, but on a whole the album is solid and will get a lot of airplay!

yeah, i'll just leave that alone, it's a worthless thing to have assumed, and, yeah, everything that's out there is mastered. if it wasn't mastered it'd still be on his computer separated into a bunch of different tracks.

travis wrote:the quality of the leak i've downloaded is terrible, sounds like 'songs' quality without the intention, you know? a lot of this reminds me of animal collective, like 'street light'. i guess he's in with them so...fffff?...the crucifix sounds like john singing a geneva J song...'cop killer' is the only one i like, it's pretty bad ass, he's pushing it with that one, like fuck yeah, that's where it's at....i liked 'keep pushing on' in the youtube videos, but i don't like this recording i've got of it...already heard 'matter of fact'...i hate head for the country. i've never gone to a JM show and don't know the crowds that go, but i imagine it's a lot of hoppin' boppin' college tweenies and i think this album is for them. it'd be kool if there was an album of 'cop killer' going back to the 'songs' aesthetic -tascam 688, is that what he used -.., but whatever and ffff....shit.

this is what i got:

Have you considered the idea that he may actually want his music to be open to different, personal interpretations by the people listening to it?
travis wrote:yeah, i do expect him to address his fans. he capitalizes off of his fans
In what sense?
travis wrote:it's like, let's go to a john maus show, i heard there are sexy girls that attend and a bar, we can have fun
LOL all the Maus gigs I've been to have been mostly full of weird-looking dudes
travis wrote:if john maus isn't speaking for anyone he shouldn't address any public political issues, like, 'gays' or, 'money' or any of that shit.
What if he's speaking for himself
