Unofficial music video for John Maus' track "Lost", from his album "A Collection of Rarities and Previously Unreleased Material".
Original video footage by Rowan Lee Hartsuiker, who was very kind to give me permission to re-cut/remix his work to the beat of "Lost". The idea of using that footage was in my mind for a long time. I knew Rowan from back in the day when we used to be members of a community about a specific Canon camcorder model, so his great videos had stuck with me. Originally, I was going to use the footage for "Mental Breakdown", but after some tests, the footage suited better to "Lost".
Hmm, not much feedback. I guess folks found it weird or inappropriate. I would like to clarify that for me this footage was great avant-garde film-art when I first saw it a few years ago. It was the kind of film I always wanted to make myself, given more resources.
Au contraire, Eugenia: I absolutely loved it! Thought it suited the song perfectly with the frenetic imagery and the skillful cutting. It's very well done.
it gave that track a much darker feel for me, reminding me of old nin videos. i would say that you are quite talented but that would be an understatement.
