To me it stands alone and has it's own energy, but sounds like it was conceived/recorded around the same time as Screen Memories (as i think Maus has said). Even though there are a couple of re-recorded songs from his back catalogue, and the Ariel cover "Privacy", these fit with the rest of the material really well.
The sonics are consistent across the album so it doesn't really have an extras vibe to me. "Outer Space" is one of my fave Maus tracks now.
