A few comments on his FB page and several on Twitter. I don't have a twitter but I just searched his name. He actually used his twitter account to post that apology as his first tweet.

John is the greatest musician, so I take his opinions to heart. He is not wrong. I understand where he's coming from in terms of music as a commodity...it should be shared. In fact, I used to have an iPod, but as a creature of nostalgia, I felt something oppressive about listening to music at the tip of my finger. There are pros and cons to art's accessibility. People waited days on end to see a three and a half hour opera...there was the prospect of ecstasy...then the gratification. That's all lost. Thanks to John, is that all really lost?
When I went to see his show, I witnessed something absolutely profound...an alien language, High performance, etc.. May he continue to tear down the walls of ordinary bullshit!

I agree. I saw him 4 times this year and I am craving to see him perform again.

the dude from dom cited "utorrent" as his favourite record store in that very same column...john maus does it and people go nuts, wtf. i guess dom won't be around much longer, ha ha. i think it was an error of judgement on john's part to accept that interview. it's such a stupid column-- just for people to namedrop so readers can go nuts opening tabs in safari to google names without getting any kind of insight into the artist themselves..... like the facebook thing that john touched on...

and yeah, being a contrarian fuck ala hipster runoff is a super easy way to be annnoying.

I don't get Odd Future at all. Their music's mostly pretty dull and they come off like snotty brats
in some ways i really admire this group, especially how they release their music so prolifically. but they're also just kids drunk on fame ever since pitchfork decided to make them megastars. they came out here to australia and were absolute brats, stirring up our media and labelling the state of queensland racist for one person's petty remark and then pissing off back to LA. due to the circumstances of the festival they were playing at, i believe thet actually performed at this venue:

what the hell, get out of our opera house. what is wrong with this world? odd future in sydney opera house.............. fucking hell.

I imagine Odd Future to be the new Insane Clown Posse...below sensationalism. Can't get past that notion. Not that I've investigated any rap music... even if Pitchfork says it's okay.

"For me , the biggest question is why are we here ?
Okay , we all love his music and when i discovered it , i was so bored and depressed musicaly that It was a spiritual revelation ( musicaly ) but why we want to know and do more and "meet" each other ?"

we should all have a cookout.
i'd really go.
