Hey I know no one's posted on here since like 2011 but I still love this site anyways.
I think I'm conducting an interview with Maus before a show tomorrow
what are some questions you think I should ask him? I'm mostly going to ask about his PhD thesis, but ofc album questions/hysterical body/AP stuff too. just interested to know what mausspace thinks
if you're asking about his thesis, maybe you could ask if John thinks the stiffening of the control aspects in modern society are here to stay?
I know he develops his point from a more philosophical analysis on the nature of the mechanisms of control, but I mean control as a component of geopolitical power - the technology, internet, data science etc etc are more and more tools used for state and/or business policies regarding control and surveillance.
the internet used to be the concretization that gave tangibility to this ideal principle of a space where we were supposed to act under no restraints, sharing free information and spreading ideas freely. is it gone forever? is it established as a means of reproduction of marked principles under control of big enterprises with our informations being used as commodities?
or maybe you could just ask him if he personally feels more accomplished when making music or in the academy.
thanks, Sophia - and don't forget to share the entire interview with us when it's done!
